Magnetising Your Mentoring Message
I
bought a Mitsubishi Lancer over ten years ago. I don’t have the car anymore but
their jingle was based on a song that’s still on the radio. Every time I hear
it, it brings back happy memories of that little car.
Did
you realize that car companies don’t just make
ads to sell cars?
They make ads that specifically pitch to kids (“Zoom, zoom,
zoom …) to nurture future buyers.
They also design ads for customers
who have already bought. They want to reassure the buyer they’ve made a good
choice by reinforcing the benefits of the car or self-image of the buyer and
build brand loyalty so they’ll buy again.
There
are important lessons for us here when it comes to getting our message across
about mentoring.
